USU---Loved it!!

So last Friday I went down to USU for my Transfer day...I toured the college, I love their campus, yes it is HUGE, but it is so pretty and it is like a whole world all in its own!! They have everything you need to survive on campus. It was amazing. I also went and met with my advisor..she only found out 3 days before that she was my advisor but we did the best we could and looked into a bunch of classes that she thought would be good for me. When I got to sit down with her she told me I had alot of work to do and blah blah blah...well come to find out she only had 3/4 of transcript so to her it did look like I was missing alot cause she was missing 2 whole semesters of classes!!! But we got my life sorted out and a few of my classes figured out. She was amazing and my ambassador Erin was great too. She was so fun and just helped me with everything. She answered all my questions and showed me everything. We (the transfer students) and the Ambassadors all had lunch on campus at this HUGE all you can eat buffet...it was amazing food and I cant wait to eat there all the time.. everything was amazing!!! We also got free Aggie Ice Cream!! It is SO good too. The longer I was on campus the more I fell in love with the whole scene!! I cant wait to move to Logan...if only I can find me a good roommate or a cheap 1 bedroom place to crash I will be fine!! So if you know of anyone amazing that is living in Logan that needs a roommate in late Decish...let me know!! :) Oh and if you are Mandy and you are reading this...my e-mail is bartschicowgirl@HOTMAIL.com not yahoo...I have a yahoo but the hotmail one is the one I use for my blog!! ha ha love you...and your amazing pie making abliltiy!! ;)

Taking the next step towards the dream!!

Well its Wednesday...Hump Day. I am excited and super nervous. On Friday I get to venture down to Logan and do my transfer orientation at Utah State University!! That's right. I am one step closer to that oh so grand dream...not exactly what my dream is but I am one step closer to it by moving to USU. Go Aggies!! I am excited because I need a change, not that I don't like Twin Falls or CSI, but I just need a change in my life. I am kinda in a rut...a school rut. lol. Right now I am busy all day everyday with school. I love it because it gives me that challenge, but at the same time I hate it because I don't have any time to do anything else. It seems like there is always another test that I have to study for and I am so scared of failing that I cant let myself "waste" time by doing something besides studying. I see people everyday that are mad about their test scores and I ask them well how much did you study cause I studied on and off for the past two weeks and they are like well I started yesterday...well hello. Its your own dam fault!! I need to pass all of my classes to graduate...and I have to pass the computer literacy test also to fulfill my gradation requirements...some say its hard and some say its super easy so we'll see how it goes!! Well I am off to finish my Chem and Biology pre and post labs!!

A hunting I went....

So this weekend I went home (of course) to Bear Lake to join the family for the weekend hunt. My family is HUGE into hunting and the whole family joins in...including my baby niece Brylee, we love it. Well I got home Friday and went on the usual evening hunt up the canyon behind the house...not seeing much but a few does. My mom and dad went with me in what we call "The Huntin Truck" which is an old red Ford flat bed diesel...this thing is A BEAST...lol. Well it was uneventful. My brother Travis convinced me that I needed to join him on a hunt with horses, on the steepest brushiest craziest mountain behind our house...me being the tard that I am joyfully agreed because going anywhere with Travis is always a good time. But on Saturday morning Travies knee was swollen from the previous evening gettin Uncle Dudes bull out of what we like to call the Hole which lives up to its name and is a huge patch of trees that you could get lost in. Well long story short we ended up sittin at Windy Camp for a few hours watching the engergetic people hike Middle Ridge and North Pearl (the crazy steep mountain). Well I decided I would hike down the Switch Backs and meet up with everyone at the bottom. Well I went on my merry little way picking my way thru a giant rock patch and some very deep timber. Well I got nearly to the bottem when I realized I had lost my radio, and the family rule is you find it or you replace it. Well I had no intentions of replacing it so I started to retrace my steps back up the mountain...and then I heard it....my radio...somewhere far up the mountain, I could barely hear it beep when someone was talking so I ran and then they stopped talking so I stopped...and then I ran again cause they would start talking again...I did this till I was nearly 3/4 of the way back UP the mountain and I finally found it...hanging in a tree...about 100 yards from the top of the mountain...good thing I was in the mood for a hike cause then I had to hike back to the bottem to catch a ride home!! On Saturday afternoon Jen came out to the house to do some Senior pictures...we had such a good time...we laughed all stinkin day. I love that girl...she is the little sister I never had....but she really doesnt act little...we have the same mentallity most of the time. My family loves her too...she fits right in with my crazy out of control family!! :) Well that is all for now!!!

Oh the joys of snow!!

So this weekend was a very much needed break for me. After my chemistry test on Friday I only had to sit in my soils class and enjoy lecture knowing that I was done with Chemistry...until Tuesday...lol. So I made it home Friday in fairly good time, I stopped in Soda and got my hair cut and curled...I forgot how much I liked my hair curled...its my new thing...anyways. So I went home and went hunting. We only saw a few deer...the one buck we did see was a baby so I let JC shoot at it cause its his first year and I am a horn hunter only...not a baby killer. lol. That night it snowed...only a few inches and most of it was gone by morning when I got my 6 AM phone call from Travis to wake me up to go home and get coffee started. It was also my Mommy's birthday and I wanted to be the first one to tell her happy birthday!! We went hunting and I decided that day that I totally miss my big brother. He is so sweet to me and fun. We were sittin in the truck cause it was like -30 degrees lookin for some deer...me Trav and JC..and we went to back up to leave and Trav started freaking out "LOOK WHATS BEHIND US" he yelled and we all jumped out and he was grabbing for his gun and some how it got caught in his seat belt and he couldnt get it out and I just couldnt stop laughing because he was struggling so hard to get his gun unstuck. And then we all just laughed and forgot about the deer cause we were having such a great time. Saturday night it snowed even more! Jen got her car stuck in her drive way on her way to my house...it was hilarious!! Sunday morning we went chasing cows on four wheelers in a foot of snow. It was so fun. Me, Jen and Rorie shared a four wheeler and we let Rorie drive...keep in mind she is only about 3 years old...she is now a fan of spinning cookies...she calls them fun circles. Me and Jen were laughing so hard we couldnt make her stop and we went in circles till her thumb started to hurt her. Good times in the snow!! I went hunting on my own at about 2 pm. I just drove up the canyon and sat...watching it snow...I love the snow and how it makes everything look so pretty. I cooked dinner Sunday night for my mom and dad...I attempted Chicken and Dumplings...my Aunt D's recipe...it was a failure...I suck...ha ha ha. This morning I went riding horses, chasing cows, and sorting cows. I love riding horses in the snow. It is just so pretty and quiet and amazing. It is one of my most favorite things. I had fun with my brothers playin in the snow. All in all it was a good weekend. But now its back to life at college...I have a Biology test in the morning...gotta love that!! :)

Oh The Chemistry....

Totally not what your thinking...not chemistry between me and Mr. Right...but Chemistry...with atoms and elements and molecules and compounds. Well for the past couple of weeks I have been completely in a dither because I was a tad bit lost in class....I finally just gave up and started drawing pictures one day because I was so lost I wasnt sure why I was really taking the class. Well yesterday I decided that I was going to buckle down and just study until I got it or give up. So I spent my evening studying page after page, handout after hand out, note after note and guess what....it finally all started coming together. You know that happy feeling you get when you accomplish something you didnt think you could...well thats what happened yesterday. I was sitting in the atrium with my books and notes scattered over a whole table when my chemistry teacher walked up...Jim is his name...he said well Jennifer I can see you're going to do well on the test...and that was all I needed. I had to show him that I could...and then this guy Clint that used to be in my bowling class and is now in my GPS class came over and sat down with me, he is a Geology major so it is given that he is a chemistry pro...well he helped me with balancing a few equations. So I am hoping for a good test grade on Friday!! I believe I can do it and that is all I really need!! My other classes are going ok....Soils...well that is just a BAD class all around and someone needs to be punched for requiring it. It is chemistry, irritations, plant science, and math all combined in one EVIL. Note to you all...dont ever take it. Ag Activities is going well...lol...poisonous plants....going well too...we ate M&M's for lab...trust me it had a good meaning behind it....GPS is going good...its been pretty fun....ummm Biology is fun....my teacher is completely INSANE so it makes it all that much better.....umm I am kinda of a sit in on an Animal Evaluation class and the teacher Barry is my Ag Club advisor...well I dont take the class but I sit in on it like 3 times a week...well they had a test on Friday...well Barry just being funny made me sit down and take the test....I am proud to say I got 47/100...thats pretty good for not even being in the class!! lol. Well anyways. I am off to do something productive with the rest of my evening...probably some Chemistry!! Wish me luck on my test!! Tootles!!

Trip to see Amanda and Corey...

So on Tuesday morning I got a text from my friend Amanda Skinner Weston...it was a picture of her husband Corey in the Hospital in Ogden. Monday he was on a horse ride with his dad and his horse tripped and fell on top of him. He has brain damage to the middle of his brain...which to the extent of my knowlege is one of the worst kinds. Ross and I met in Brigham City after he got off work and went down to see Amanda and take her a care package I put together with the help of my sister. It really hit home to Angie and my family. We know what they are going thru and it just kills me that I cant do more to help her. Amanda has been down there since Monday, yesterday was the first time she got to see Chet and Payson (Her two boys). You could just see how happy she was when they got there!! Her mood totally changed....they really seemed to lift everyones spirits. They are so full of life and look and act just like Corey. We were all sitting around talking and Ross turned to me and said, they are so Corey...they look like him and so act like him. Amanda's family was there and I got to meet a few of Corey's family. They are all really great people and it was good to see them all there supporting Amanda and praying for Corey. Amanda took Ross and I back in to Corey's room to see him, it really hit home for me and brought back all of the emotions and feelings of Jeremy. I really had a hard time with it at first and then I started to tell Amanda what I was thinking and how things were and helping her helped me get over my emotions. Having Ross there really helped to...he is such a great friend and I dont know what I would have done without him. Corey's pressure was up to 98 when we went in there...good pressure is 10...but the nurse had just given him a bath and changed his sheets. That always tends to cause some pressure increases. Jeremy hated it when we moved him. But they did try and take him off sedation just to see his reactions and after a bit he popped up out of bed and started coughing because of the tubes in his throat...he also squeezed the nurses hand the same day. After our goodbyes with Amanda and her family Ross and I went out to dinner at Jeremiahs on 12th Street in Ogden...Ross recommened it because his family loves it...but he has never been there. We had such a great time, we were "fighting" and the waiter came up to take our order and he looked at us and was like ummm I think I'll give you a minute...as soon as he walked away me and Ross busted out laughing. We had a great road trip to and from Ogden, we had a heart to heart. Ross is such a good friend I cant wait to move to Logan so I can hang out with him more often. This trip really made me open my eyes again to how bad things really can be. I had almost forgetten what it felt like to have nearly everything fall apart so fast. I just hope and pray that Amanda stays strong and Corey makes a full recovery! And for all of you that know Amanda and Corey please pray for Corey and a speedy recovery!! And if you can let Amanda know that your thinking of her!! Anyways have a great day!! :)
